The Catawba County United Way helps supports the Lunch Buddy mentoring and Healthy Youth programs, which provides educational programming aimed at preventing adolescent pregnancy as well as prevention of suicide and other potentially harmful risk-taking behaviors. Programs are available to parents of adolescents as well.

CaptureXmas2019 December - Annual Christmas Bureau brings the smiles

This year 580 families were helped through the Christmas Bureau, benefiting the lives of 1,521 individual children. This included 380 teens through the Catawba County United Way Teen Christmas. This collaborative effort through the  Christmas Bureau let local families in need know they were not alone during this holiday season. Thank you to all          those who were part of this great event.

2019 Catawba County United Way Cross Country Invitational - More than 40 teams, over 900 runners, 30+ student led community service projects and one amazing story from Dave Clark and Doug Cornfield about never letting anything hold you back from chasing your dreams. Cornfield wrote a children’s book about Dave’s story, showing the power of friendship and caring. Several schools were so moved by Clark's story they made the message of the book the center piece of their service projects.

Catawba County Youth Council on why it's important to give back

2019 Catawba County Days of Caring - a way to educate the importance of volunteering to the general public by connecting them directly to the needs of local non-profit agencies. The first stop was with volunteers from the Catawba County Youth Council washing fleet vehicles at Adult Life Programs. The agency is a day center for adults with special needs, 18 years and older, who desire or are in need of adult day services.
