The Catawba County United Way participated in the Juneteenth March and Celebration in Newton on Saturday, June 17 – a day to commemorate the end of slavery in the United States after the Civil War. We marched from the Old Courthouse in downtown Newton to the Central Recreation Center.
It was an amazing moment of community, and it was a reminder of the importance of empowering all voices in our country to be heard, to be understood and to be accepted.
Thank you to everyone who helped and participated with this event.
